10. EXIT

4 Norwegian men in their 30s. The world of finance. Seems a bit boring so far, don’t you think? Think again! Exit is not just a series about 4 people. It’s about their lives as big-time investors in Oslo and attempts to escape their responsibilities. Do you secretly have a dark sense of humour? Then you’ll like this TV show!

9. I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE

Starring Mark Ruffalo and… Mark Ruffalo – lol. Yes, 2 brothers in the leading role. Both played by the same actor. Although, it’s hard to tell. They really seem 2 different people. I Know This Much Is True is an HBO miniseries that has been well received. Especially during this pandemic, it’s a must-watch, because it shows a different side of mental struggles, that are often still taboo.

8. THE CROWN

What do you actually know about the Royal Family? About Buckingham Palace? Queen Elizabeth II? Right, not that much… Except if you’ve seen the TV show The Crown, of course! The Crown follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign starting from the 1940s. It tells the inside story of Queen Elizabeth II’s life. What to expect? Romance, political rivalries and personal intrigues of the mid 20th Century.

7. JEFFREY EPSTEIN: FILTHY RICH

This Netflix miniseries and documentary tells the stories of survivors of wealthy convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. They reveal the manipulation, abuse and emotional scars suffered at the hands of this American millionaire. Unfortunately, we already know the outcome. Nevertheless, this series gives a clear overview of what happened over the years and how it’s possible that it took so long until these events were actually covered by the media.

6. ALBATROS

The show Albatros by Canvas with an exclusive Belgian cast is about obese people on a weight loss programme. It’s the perfect mix between drama and feelgood! With well-known actors such as Ruth Beeckmans, Joris Hessels, Isabelle Van Hecke, Benny Claessens, Ilse de Koe but also fun new faces. Albatros was created by Wannes Destoop and Dominique De Malder, who also plays a part in the series – a funny one at that!

5. TIGER KING

Joe Exotic! Caroline Baskin! It doesn’t get any more American than that. Netflix for their part describes it as Murder, Mayhem and Madness. And that’s a fairly accurate description. This true crime documentary revolves around eccentric cat lovers – particularly large cats. The story takes a turn when a mysterious murder takes place.

4. UNDERCOVER

An exciting fictional series about the life of 2 undercover agents, with Tom Waes, Anna Drijver and Frank Lammers. They need to infiltrate in the life of an infamous drug dealer, and eventually stop him, of course. Are you into drama? Undercover is your go-to series.

3. THE MANDALORIAN

The Mandalorian series takes place in the Star Wars universe, approximately 5 years after the Return of the Jedi a.k.a. the last part of the Luke Skywalker trilogy. That means, approximately 25 years before the first Rey film, The Force Awakens. It was made by streaming service Disney+. Is it worth it, you ask? Despite what you might think, The Mandalorian does not disappoint. Even if you just watch it to see the cutest Baby Yoda ever! You’ll finally understand what all the fuss is about.

2. THE LAST DANCE

This film/documentary made out of 10 parts tells the story of the victorious Chicago Bulls with athletes such as Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson and Steve Kerr. Have you always wondered what the last season of Jordan’s career looked like? In the Last Dance, Netflix follows the team of the greatest basketball players that succeed at winning 6 NBA titles in 8 seasons. Iconic!

1. THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT

This was undeniably the most popular miniseries of 2020. 62 million viewers worldwide, that says it all. Even though The Queen’s Gambit wasn’t released until October, but immediately was a trending topic! The prodigy Beth Harmon wants to become the best chess player in the world. Everyone started playing chess because of this series. Have you started yet?
